Marquee Bar Concession

You are invited to apply for the Bar Concession for England's Medieval Festival at Herstmonceux Castle on 23rd, 24th & 25th August, 2008.

Join us to celebrate the 16th year of England's Medieval Festival.

Sited in the two prime locations in front of Herstmonceux castle and on the edge of the Royal arena will be two 40 x 100 foot traditional white centre pole marquee. In these we have the Buxom Wench Tavern and the Jesters Inn. Half of this space or 50 running feet along the back wall is allocated to the Bar sales. These points of sale will have tremendous sales opportunity to sell beverages both alcoholic and non alcoholic to the public during open hours on each of the Festival days and will also have exclusive rights to cater for the re-enactors who use the Buxom Wench Tavern facilities after hours on the four nights of the long weekend.

To be chosen for this concession the successful company must be able to prove to us that they can deliver and maintain throughout the weekend a high level of costuming, decoration of point of sale and variety and quality beverages.

The Festival will provide for the concession price:

Water hook up, electrical power, near by toilets with sinks, wheel bins for waste, the marquee, the lighting were necessary, chairs and tables.

The successful concessionaire will.

1. Have the concessions open, fully staffed and ready for business to the public between 10.00 am and 6.00 PM on each Festival day, RAIN OR SHINE with no exceptions. Additionally they will be open Aug 22nd 6pm- 11:30 pm, 23rd 7pm- 11:30pm, 24th 7 pm - 11:30 pm. and Aug. 25th 7pm - 10.00 pm for the festival participants.

2. Pay £3900.00 in total. VAT is not charged for this concession. A 20% non refundable deposit per concession must be paid at the time of booking, along with a post dated cheque dated for April 1st 2008 for the balance due. Payment can also be made by credit card.

3. Decorate their point of sale area in a medieval theme.

4. Ensure that all servers are dressed in medieval costume.

5. Be responsible to ensure there serving and drinking area is clean and tidy at all times.

6. Submit their planned menu and prices for pre-approval at the time of booking.

7. Apply and pay for all required liquor licenses or permits for the bars.

Applications will be considered on a first come first served basis.

There is B & B available in the Castle's residence building for as little as £20, subject to availability at the time of booking. To book accommodation please telephone 01323 834444. Free on site camping is also available.
