It is my very great pleasure to invite you to Herstmonceux Castle. The place where History Has Never Been Such Fun! This spectacular event is held on August Bank Holiday weekend at Herstmonceux Castle. From humble beginnings the Festival has grown to become Britain's largest annual three day celebration of the colourful middle ages and attracts annually over three thousand re-enactors, performers, musicians, artisans and craft workers from throughout the United Kingdom and Europe and more than thirty thousand visitors from around the world.

New for 2008 – Jester School , Juggling Workshops and Jester and Juggling competitions! 

The ' Jester School ' is situated within the Kids Kingdom and it is here our festival jugglers will teach the public in workshops throughout the day. 

Dare to juggle in the competitions…… prove your skills to the crowds and ‘Devilstick Peat’ England ’s Medieval Festival resident Jester!  Perfect for showing off those skills you have been learning and to try out new tricks, it’s all about practice!   Entertain the audience and you’re in with a chance!   With such a captive audience who would want to miss out!

Complete the on-line application form to compete in either the Jester or Juggling competitions or both.  Anybody wishing to participate over the Festival weekend must be in full costume at all times.  For those that do participate there are camping facilities and hot showers available on site.
