Over the centuries little has changed in the skills required by a cavalryman. Ditchling Common Stud, in association with England's Medieval Festival at Herstmonceux Castle, organises a mounted Skill-at-Arms Competition that is broadly based on international rules but with a distinctly medieval character all of its own. With more foreign competitors taking part each year it has become a truly international competition and the highlight of Britain's all too short mounted Skill-at-Arms season.

At Ditchling Common Stud year round indoor and outdoor arena facilities are provided for the training of Skill-at-Arms riders of all levels; whether you are a beginner or a seasoned competitor, DCS can provide training courses and mounts.
